If you have your own vehicle then just drive by NH17 or NH4 via Mumbai –Pune Express Highway for around 500 KMS from Mumbai to Malvan.

Pune - Khed Shivapur – Satara – Kolhapur – Gaganbawda Ghat - Kankavali - Achara (Malwan route)- Tondivali
Pune to Tondivali via Kolhapur is the shortest route however there are alternate routes like
Pune - Khed Shivapur - Surur - Satara - Umbraj - Kumbharli Ghat - Chiplun - Kankavli - Achara (Malwan route)- Tondivali (445 Kms)
Kolhapur – Gaganbawda Ghat - Kankavali - Achara (Malwan route)- Tondivali
You can opt for one of the transport services:Trains are available till Kankavali a nearby Railway Station which is at 34 Kms from Malvan City and an additional 6 Kms to Tondavali Beach.
From Kankavali take an State transport service (ST), autorickshaw/share taxi (in local language TUMTUM) to Tondavali. Trains are available from Mumbai and Pune as well.

If you are an International Tourist then the nearest Airport will be Mumbai, Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
Anyone who travels from Mumbai will need a Domestic Flight to Dabolim, Goa which is the nearest airport to Tondavali, Malvan
From Dabolim Airport you will need to hire a Taxi or a private car to Tarkali, Malvan. Also you can travel by Tourist/State transport Buses from Panjim (the capital of Goa State) to Malvan, Tondavali.
